Mold Remediation, Demolition, Removal, and Cleaning

Mold is a naturally occurring organism that thrives in warm, humid environments. When found in a home, it can cause health risks including respiratory complications and allergies. Our team specializes in treating mold located in basements, attics, bathrooms, kitchens, and on walls. The first step for us is to complete a thorough inspection, moisture survey, and air quality assessment by a third party before we begin. Our team works diligently to locate, disinfect, clean, and dry all mold affected areas. We also look to identify and seal the structure, both inside and outside, to prevent further mold growth. It is common for us to find mold while inspecting and completing hoarder cleaning, biohazard cleaning, and foreclosed or squatter properties. In severe cases, we have demolished walls, shelves, and vanities. We serve Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Brantford, Guelph, and the surrounding areas. We work with insurance companies if our services are covered by your home insurance.

Process Overview

Phase 1 - Identifying Moisture Source and Isolating Affected Areas

We recommend conducting a test by a third party to identify the room(s) that are experiencing elevated humidity, poor air quality, and with visible mold. It is critical to identify during an assessment where the moisture is entering the affected areas. Once we are familiar with the amount of rooms and severity of the mold we can prepare a quote. We then seal off problematic rooms in preparation for disinfection and cleaning.

Phase 2 - Deep Clean and Encapsulation

Our process begins by removing any severely mold-damaged items and materials such as furniture and drywall. Carpets may be salvageable depending on the severity of mold. We then begin cleaning and disinfecting affected areas to kill mold with a biocide. Next, the room is vented and air is filtered to remove airborne mold. In some cases sanding and demolition is necessary to completely remove mold.

Phase 3 - Painting

Once the affected items are removed, areas disinfected, and air quality improved, we recommend painting the remaining walls. We suggest using specialty paints designed to prevent future mold outbreaks for long term remediation. Once complete, we advise another round of testing to ensure that the residence is safe, humidity is at an acceptable level, and that air quality has been restored.
